藤原俊隆，機械・航空工学科概論資料，2001

3年前の講義で配布された資料を改めて読み直す。内容は C-J detonation と PDE (Pulse detonation engine) について。今年度の後期に「燃焼の化学物理」を受講したのでついでに読んだ(3年前にも一通り読んだけど、全然理解できていなかったはず。今回は十分理解できた。)。
PDEはちょうどこれからって感じで、なかなか面白そう(challenging)な分野。しかし当の藤原教授が退官されてうちの大学ではあまり盛んではなさそう(宮坂助手がいらっしゃるが、電気推進がメインっぽい)。研究室でそっち方面に行くつもりはないけどね。
I reread a handout distributed in a class three years ago. It says about C-J detonation and pulse detonation engine (PDE). I didn’t understand well before while I can understand it now， because I took a lecture on combustion last semester.

2章の後半を読んだ。

17日に借りてきた、ありそうでなかなか無い本。負の数の"-7"は"minus seven"とは読まないそうだ。口語では使うのかな？
I borrowed this from the library on the 17th. The number "-7" is read as "negative seven". "Minus" means the operator "-".

昨日と今日の二日間はろくな事をしなかった。両日とも起きたのは昼過ぎ。いかに大学の授業がペースメーカーとして役立っているかが分かる日でした。
3/1に成績が分かるので、試験を振り返るつもりで予想を立ててみる。実験と製図を除くと専門科目は全部で8つで、全て受験して単位は取れているはず。
My exam results will be handed out on March 3. Previous to it， I estimated my grades. I took 8 classes this semester and took all the examinations.

Digital Circuits - A (It was very easy for everybody.)
CAD & CAE - A (I don’t think I made any mistakes.)
Heat Transfer - B (I made a foolish mistake.)
Computational Fluid Dynamics - C (I couldn’t answer some questions.)
Dynamical Systems - B (I didn’t submit A/D converter.)
Combustion - B (I worked all the night at bldg. No.2. My brain didn’t work well at exam time.)
Mechatronics - C (I didn’t take enough measures.)
Signal Processing - A (This is my practiced subject.)

各科目の感想などはいつか書くかも知れないです。
I may write impression of each subject someday.

知っていることをフルパワーでひけらかす品のなさよりも、いろいろ知ってても使わずにすませる余裕のほうが好ましい。

冬樹蛉の間歇日記2003/12/29より。知識をひけらかしてる人を見て不快になるのは、自分にもその傾向があるからか。時々自分も同じ事をしていてその度直そうと思ってしまう。
ひけらかしが嫌味にならないのは、聞き手にとっても有用な情報である場合のみだと思う。
